RKS 2023 Wine: RIOJA: Diosares Crianza 2018: LCBO Dirty Pool?

One can count on a fairly steady but limited amount of Spanish wines in Liquor Control Board of Ontario Vintages releases. And the prices are affordable.

Aroma: If a single aroma such as cherry can carry this wine like it does many Riojas so be it. Pushing that a bit slim blackberry and raspberry notes. This wine has a somewhat stale bouquet.

Palate: Cherry dominates with a struggling bit of blueberry. Low tannins. Reticent acids. Rather wobbly and weak on the palate.

Personality: Quaffable but hardly memorable.

Food Match: Midia Pilafi (Greek Style Mussels in Rice).

Cellarbility: Drink by the end of 2024. Will not improve with age.

Price: $21.95 CDN.

RKS 2023 Wine Rating: 74/100. Luis Gutiérrez robertparker.com 91 October 2020. Is this LCBO Dirty Pool selling wine based on a three old review?

(Diosares Crianza 2018, DOC Rioja, Diosares, Laguardia, Spain, 750 mL, 14%).
