RKS 2025 CANADIAN Wine: Henry of Pelham 2020 School House Cabernet Merlot

A blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Merlot.

Aroma: Penetrating blackberry, black cherry and blueberry in equal mixture ensconced in a gentle oak overlay.

Palate: Broad based moderate tannins. A fine example of a highly disciplined wine and by that, I mean the fruit is there but your keen senses and more time in the bottle will work it out. Quite traditional Bordeaux. Discernable fruit would be blackberry with a side of cassis.

Personality: I am a confident wine of high-quality and breeding. I didn’t spend all that time in finishing school to be discrete and hanging out all over the place. I have the credentials, but not the necessity to be consumed at a high-end Niagara winery dining room.

Food Match:  A well- crafted pot roast as mundane as that may sound.

Cellarbility: Consume by 2027-year end. If drinking in 2025 decant an hour prior to serving.

Price: $28 CDN.

RKS 2025 CANADIAN Wine Rating: 93/100. Vic Harradine 93.
