RKS Poetry Anthology: “Legless Lager Louts”

Legless Lager Louts

A phenomenon in the United Kingdom I am told

A few pints and the timid become bold

Occasionally dampered by a police chokehold

You see them as tourists in countless European cities and towns in the ubiquitous Irish pub

Safe and comforting place to eat bangers and mash grub

Eaten by a tattooed thug

Or rioting at a party on a Greek island without shame

Intoxicated gay abandon is their game

Fornicating on the beaches is so lame

But it beats having to go to a shitty job each day on the tube or train

My goodness the lager has transformed their brain

They are nothing more than tragically inane
