COVID Poetry Corner : “The Prison sentence”

The Prison Sentence

It’s been over a year
cowering by many in COVID fear

Let me outta here
but oh no leave the house and B117 will cause my lungs to sear

Realistically with vaccine delays abounding
why Pfizer chooses now to retool in Belgium is astounding
just we when all hoped from stress we’d be rebounding

politico-medico directives are never ending
with millions of minds bending

At least in prison you have a chance at parole
if you are skilled at a parole board cajole
but with this COVID we are very far down the rabbit hole

Civil disobedience is beginning to mount
yet the political-medico elite seems only concerned with the count

Cancer surgery and other life saving procedures are getting delayed
is all this rigmarole getting you a bit frayed?
