The festival will take place in Toronto from Friday, November 13 through Saturday, November 14, 2026 at the Carlton Cinema, 20 Carlton St., Cinema #8.

From close to 300 submissions, Shorts Not Pants Film Festival has curated a lineup of 43 films that will surely captivate audiences and showcase the extraordinary talent of filmmakers from around the globe. The festival provides a platform for emerging and established filmmakers to present their work and engage with audiences passionate about the art of storytelling through short films.

“Bidet” a Canadian eight-minute short serves as an example where superlative filmmaking transforms the satirical-absurd into the “almost believable” through the use of camera work, lighting, sound effects and music.

Three friends find a bidet in a treasure chest washed up on the beach. Brad, one of the trio, admits he has always wanted one while Kim muses why would anyone want to sink a bidet which will be answered in spades in this short which possesses all the elements of a classic old fashioned horror film.

Bidet scares shitless the viewer and redeems with a cleansing experience.

Directed by James Brylowski.

RKS Short Films Rating 93/100.
