“Ferris Wheels” begins with son Arthur maintaining a two-week death vigil over his mother.

A pregnant stranger arrives ostensibly responding to a “For Sale” sign and enters the house to inspect it.

Juliette, Arthur’s sister, arrives and they begin bickering over the division of property and other matters causing them to miss the passing of their mother. The stranger tells them she has heard the mother’s last words.

You will puzzle over who exactly is this stranger telling Arthur and Juliette about the regrets of their mother and her apology to them about how she brought them up. You may even have strong suspicions about who this stranger is and what transpires after this?

Do you believe that life flashes before one’s eyes before death or at death the spirit of the deceased visits loved ones? Well the answer my friend is not blowing in the wind but perhaps in the ending credits concerning the identification of the actors?

This 17-minute Quebec film is directed by Thomas Dufour.

RKS Short Films Rating 73/100.
